Puerto Vallarta…here I come.

Dennis and I finalized our plans to go to PV. I am SO excited. Aside from a few trips to Vegas with my parents about 9 years ago, and the occasional trip to Surfside Beach (near Galveston), I haven’t been on a vacation in almost 13 years. I have to get my passport this week and then I’ll be set. I will get a little of my sis-in-law in me with my planning though…I will have lists for everything, from what to bring, wear, ideas of places to go while we’re there, plans for the kids, etc. I cannot explain how excited I am for this trip. We’re going early April…not too far away!!!!

Since I will be in a swimsuit in just over 2 months, I am buckling down on eating right and exercising! I had a gift certificate from Christmas and bought a wii fit over the weekend. This is how out of shape I am….I used it for 30 minutes. I did yoga, strength training, aerobics. I must add that I am the hula hoop QUEEN!!! J Mason and Rylan were on it for 2+ hours. Yesterday….and still today, my calves are so freakin’ sore! Tonight it’s back to the wii. Anything is better than nothing. I’d rather bike ride but it’s been too cold to get the boys out & about. Maybe next month we can venture out.

Happy Friday!!!!!

I am super excited that it's Friday. Super, Super, Super excited.

My brother Ray, his wife Shannon, their daughter and grandson are meeting Gay and I for lunch today. We're going to have mexican food. Yum! They are in the Dallas area because they've been going to classes all week so they can learn how to perform his at home dialysis.

I need to pay bills today (bummer) and work on a monthly budget. Budgeting is not my forte. My "to do" list continues to mount up. D.da and I have decided to go to Puerto Vallarta for our vacation in early April. I'm excited -- it is something to look forward to. Something positive!

Stay warm, hug your loved ones and have a fabulouso weekend!

Overload

My mind has been on such overload lately. You'd think I would have plenty to blog about. I probably do, but I can't seem to get anything written (typed). So instead of being blog productive, I'm working on my "to do" list.
  • Cara for hair appointment (best stylist EVER w/ a super cute salon)
  • Make dr. appointment for RX refill
  • Mason's b-day
  • Plan Mexico vacation (office is moving in April - coordinate schedule)

gotta go now -- must work on list, it's growing

Inspired

At 4:20 AM I was really inspired to blog. I had a million thoughts running through my head. That's what happens when I can't sleep -- my mind races. I should have grabbed my bedside binder and written down a few thoughts/ideas, but instead I started sifting through old photos which are housed in my bathroom closet (don't ask). A friend posted a high school picture on me on facebook so i decided it was "on" and i would post some crazy photos of her. I sat for 30 minutes looking through old photos, pre-mom photos. A few photos reminded me of my "trouble days" in high school. Yea -- believe it, I was unruly. Hell...a few photos were the reason I was in trouble! I finally crawled back in bed, after pushing over my toothless wonder Mason who had fallen ever so gently into MY spot in the bed. I cuddled-bugged with the boys and ended up going to sleep well after 5. I'll bring some of the photos tomorrow and post them. It'll give you a laugh, I promise!

Celine Dion

Last night I went to the Celine Dion concert with my friend Jill e-bean. We are both a little under the weather so we were lacking mucho excitement. We met at Manny's for dinner (YUM-O) and then rode over to the AAC for the concert. Okay, really...hasn't this place paid for itself by now? Parking was $20. $20 PER CAR. Ridiculous!!! Oh, and call me cheap but I was NOT buying a $15 margarita. We were alcohol free. :-)

I know that you either love or hate Celine. Most men would chose the latter, but I must confess there were many men in the audience; however, I can't confirm their sexual preference... So she comes out in this sequin mini-dress and sky high heels. Her legs are AMAZING. She sang the old favs, some new songs and a french song. She says good night. I look at Jill....she didn't sing the Titanic song. WTF? Apparently, she went under the stage for a final wardrobe change (I think she was up to 4 or 5) and came up to the breathtaking tune, complete with video from the movie (note to love muffin, we will be watching Titanic really soon. You love Lord of the Rings. I love Titanic). Fabulous. Fantastic. FANTABULOUS! I had chills. Her voice is so powerful. We jetted out as soon as the concert was over. Got in my car and headed home. Open CD player. You guessed it - Celine. I'm sure my version lacked vocal quality but I sang my little heart out on my drive home. Now THAT is a lot of excitement for a Monday night.

Tinsel and Trees

I love Christmas. I enjoy buying gifts for those I love, decorating the house, baking, spending time with family, wrapping presents (thank you love muffin for your 5 hours of wrapping time) and all of the chaos that goes along with the holiday.

This Christmas though, was a little different. This was the first Christmas without my boys. In the divorce, we alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and this year was "his" year for Christmas. Part of my excitement about Christmas is that I have children to celebrate with. The sparkle in their eyes. The anticipation. The sharing of new toys. AHEM.....well the last one was wishful thinking on my part. So it was different but I had a very pleasant day with my love muffin and his family. Change. It's difficult. VERY difficult for me, but it is eminent.
